El cantante británico Robbie Williams generó un éxito de ventas en EEUU con «Can´t Stop Christmas» («No puedo detener la Navidad») su animada canción navideña plagada de alusiones al distanciamiento social recomendado por la pandemia de coronavirus.
«Santa está en su trineo, pero ahora está a dos metros», es una de las frases, que junto a otros pasajes en donde menciona los contactos por Zoom, los barbijos y el alcohol en gel, por citar algunos ejemplos, refiere a las particulares vivencias de este año marcado por nuevas reglas sociales.
«Oh, qué año miserable», avanza, «parecía que estábamos en guerra».
«Can´t Stop Christmas» fue un anticipo de «The Christmas Present», el disco que el intérprete lanzó para musicalizar las fiestas de fin de año.
La placa contiene algunos clásicos festivos y colaboraciones con Rod Stewart, Bryan Adams, Jamie Cullum y Tyson Fury, entre otros.
